Managing Stress

However much you enjoy your job there will be times when you find it stressful. Reasons for the stress might include the following:

  • Too much to do and not enough time to do it
  • Needing to develop new skills e.g. Presentation, management, budgeting or negotiation skills.
  • High levels of responsibility for staff and other resources
  • Big decisions with important things at stake
  • Office politics and challenging relationships with colleagues, managers, subordinates
  • A constantly changing environment and moving goal posts

Whatever the reason, stress tends to result in a feeling of losing control.
